If $499 isn’t enough money for you in your pursuit for the latest and greatest in next generation consoles, then you could always consider handing out the £6,000 (or just a bit short of $10,000) that the London department store Harrods is asking for a gold plated version of the Microsoft games console. The Xbox One is still sold out in many stores, so this one unit could be tempting for someone with a significantly bulging wallet.
This gold encrusted console is currently the only version in the world to be layered in 24 carat gold plating. Aside from its exterior though, the most expensive Xbox One console to be offered to date has no additional functionality over a standard unit. We’re not sure if the console comes complete with a gold plated Kinect sensor or controller, or if it’s just the main console, but for $10,000 you’d hope it was the whole lot!
The Xbox One has continued to sell successfully since its November launch, with more than two million consoles so far sold and shipped to happy customers.
